Admin$ and C$ shares are not available only on laptops in domain

I am having an issue with some laptops on my Windows 2003 AD domain that I am
unable to access the \\computername\admin$ or c$ share on. I can ping the
PCs by name but when i try to access the share I get network path not found.
I use the same group policy for desktops and laptops and i can access on the
desktops. I also checked firewall settings on the laptops and I belive those
are correct. Even tried disabling the firewall, but I still cnanot access.

Thanks in advance for any ideas on where to look next.

\\ipaddress\c$ gives you the same?
DDNS, WINS, etc?
Checked the settings for DNS on the laptops?

Check in computer management, system tools, shared folders, shares on the
target machine. Is anything listed in here? You may need to start the
server service on the target machine to allow other machines to access the
target's shares.
