Adjusting the Motion Path

This is a really frustration problem I'm having.

I'm trying to make a object move directly to the right a set length.
However, the preset motion path "to the right" sets a very long path. When I
try to resize this length smaller the path will automatically lock at either
slightly up or slightly down during resizing. I've tried Zooming in to get a
better resolution but this has made no difference in terms of keeping the
motion path exactly horzontal.

Are there any solutions to this?

Thanks

Hi TPocket,
Hold down the Shift key while shortening the path.
Is that what you want?
