It's a BIOS function. Usually found in the Setup category for
Power management.
To enhance LCD/Notebook screens make sure that in Appearance
settings you are using Clear Type Font rendering.
Right Click and empty area of your Desktop. Left Click Properties,
when the detail box opens, click Appearance (Tab), then the Effects
button. Check the box entitled "Use the following method..." and
then toggle (Arrow) until it reads "Clear Type", Click OK to apply.
Which Vendor/Model # is your notebook. All of them vary where
those options are found. Also worth mentioning, is on notebooks
you'll find "Blue" functions on many keys on the top rows. There
should be one for Brightness & Contrast. Usually, you'll have both
an increment & decrement key. You just hold down the Function key
and tap those keys to immediately change the screen settings.
Most laptops have power management software provided by the laptop mftr.
If you have a program like this (refer to your laptop manual), read the
instructions how to tailor it to your needs.
My user guide promted me to go to an adobe file that came with my gateway
laptop. But when I try to open the file it says the viewer cannot decript the
document. Any suggestions...
On your Gateway laptop you have a key labeled "Fn" located directly below
the left shift key. Pressing that key along with the "F7" key will decrease
your monitor's brightness. Pressing it along with the "F8" key will increase
the brightness.
