address toolbar help

Hi, when my address box is empty in internet explorer and
i push the down arrow key, all these links and addresses
come up. this is not just recent history sites, because i
just deleted those. when i click on the down arrow at
the end of the address box, nothings there, just when i
push the down arrow key. does anyone know how to delete
all these things? it's really annoying me!
