address sorting

I am a little confused by the differentiation between Outlook’s use of a name
on an email address versus it’s adding the single-quote character at the
beginning and the end of that name.

When typing a name in the address-line, Outlook provides a dropdown where it
shows having saved the same name both with and without the single-quote
character at the beginning and the end. Is this really what we need?

When sorting a folder by the names, the name often appears in two sections –
one sorted by the name, and one sorted by the name starting with the
single-quote character.

Is there no way to tell Outlook to stop adding the quote character?

Is there no way to ignore the quote character on incoming mail and on
already existing mail?

Thank you…

How an email address is stored in the autocompletion cache depends on how
the recipient was selected and what type of mail account was used. I have
never found it to be of any consequence.
The rest of your post contains too little information to permit a reply.

Russ, maybe this question is not in your natural space, but maybe someone
else can engage the questions. There is actually quite a lot of information
provided.
