Why doesn't Access remember the label setup? When running a
query for new names and going to run the report, Access
reverts to a 1 label across setup and does not remember
that this was set up for 3 across 10 down.

reverts to a 1 label across setup and does not remember
that this was set up for 3 across 10 down.

In general Access remembers the printer setting and I don't remember ever
having to fiddle with labels.
However if you work on the report sometimes it will loose everything when
you save it.
For me it's not often enough to remember to check it.
