Address labelling

How do I change the envelope address layout so it automatically has the post
code at the bottom of the address under the city (UK setting), rather than
next to the city (US setting)?

I don't think this is possible without creating your own envelope template.
But it was my understanding that the only bar codes Word could produce were
US POSTNET bar codes?

I think Suzanne is confusing post codes with bar codes in her reply. You can
set the layout of the address using an AddressLayout autotext. Copy the
following and save it as an autotext entry with that name:

{<PR_GIVEN_NAME> <PR_SURNAME>
}{<PR_COMPANY_NAME>
}{<PR_POSTAL_ADDRESS>}

You can get the full list of Outlook fields that can be used in this way -
and a few other ideas - at http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm

Yes, I did misread. We have so many requests for bar codes at the bottom of
the envelope instead of above the address that that's what I thought I saw.

It doesn't help that you call post codes zip codes on your side of the pond.

Actually they're ZIP (Zoning Improvement Plan) codes (they replaced
two-digit postal "zones"). Apparently I have a blind spot about this; I got
seriously frustrated the other day searching the USPS site for regs about
bar code placement. Finally realized I was searching for "ZIP code" rather
than "bar code." <sigh>

Ah, but zips serve the same purpose in the US as Post Codes do here. We
don't have 'zones' to improve - the whole place needs improving, and there
doesn't seem to be much of a plan ;)
