problem when printing envelope from word document

In Word 2007, when I create a letter and use the Mailings tab to
automatically create an envelope, it prints with the letter "M" at the end of
the last line of address, after the ZIP code. For example, it would read,
"City, ST 12345M". I can't figure out how to stop this from happening, and I
can't even delete the invisible character. I go through at least three
envelopes almost every time. Any ideas?

first of all: when you go through more than one envelope: does that mean
the "...M" does not appear every time?

What is your data source? Hit ALT-F9 (before merging), and tell us
exactly what the last thing in curly brackets ({}) is near the ZIP code ...

Greetings
