address book

I have a third party tool for shared address books. But now one user wants
that to sync to his palm. The palm sync software doesn't seem to see
address books but I can get it to see all outlook folders. So, is there a
way to get outlook to copy everything backwards from an address book to a
contacts folder??

The address book is just a view of your Contacts folder. You don't move
anything between them. You can usually synch only with the delivery
location folders (unless the sync software has other capabilities), but it
certainly doesn't sync with "address books", since these are just views of
folders.

Like I said I have a third party tool that creates an address book. The
address book information does not exist in a folder. Since the palm
software certainly doesn't sync with just an address book, I would like to
get outlook to copy all of the information to a contact type folder, so then
it could be synced. Does anyone know of a way to get outlook to copy all of
the information in an address book to a contact folder? Maybe even using a
macro?

Depends on the exporting ability of the address book application you have.
If it can export its contents as a CSV, you should be able to import it into
Outlook.

Your missing the point. I don't want to have to go through hoops every time
an address changes. If I can just get outlook to copy the data from the
address book to a contact folder automatically every time you open outlook,
then it will do what I want. I was thinking they may have the ability to
create a rule to do that but those appear to only apply to mail. So instead
I bet someone out there knows some simple macro commands that would copy
data from here to there.... but then again maybe not. still worth asking
though.
