Address book in Outlook 2003

If I click on the 'open book' icon on a new e-mail (or the 'To:' label) I get
the address book. However, if I start to type an e-mail address I get
suggestions of previously used e-mail addresses. The suggestions don't always
appear in the address book. Where are they stored and how do I get access to
them?

If I go into the Outlook address book, I get a panel top right which says
'Show names from the:' and has 'Outlook Address Book' - empty, 'Contacts'
(inset slightly - sub folder?) with a subset of the addresses in and
'Personal Address Book' - also empty. I'm stuck!

I'm not even sure what terminology to use in the Search for this one?

Any suggestions gratefully received

I'm changing my ISP provider shortly and need to contact all my contacts
with the new address

the autopcomplete list is cached in an NK2 file. You really need to get in
the habit of saving those addresses to contacts rather than rely on the
cache, which can disappear at any time. Changing email accounts won't remove
the cache unless you make a new profile...

did you look in the contacts folder/? that's where your addresses are
stored.

http://www.ingressor.com/autocompletetips.htm explains how that feature
works.
