address book for Outlook

I am confused about address book.
What is the default address book for Outlook2003? pst or wab?
I am using WinXP Pro. I thought that Outlook Express uses pst and Outlook,
wab.
Am I wrong? Satoshi

Yes. You are wrong.
OE uses a WAB.
All Outlook data resides in the PST file. There is no separate address book.
The Outlook Address book is simply a view of your Contacts Folder.

When I switched from OE to Outlook2003, I see my Outlook.pst resided in
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder. Contacts show the whole list of contacts
with email address. But I could not retrieve email address or contact list
while writing email under Outlook2003. Why is that?
(Eventually, your reply helped me to fix the problem). Satoshi

Because you must configure the Outlook Address Book to show your Contacts:
