address bar will not search

I am having the same problem as Sheryl. I get a reply in
the address bar with "?%20" in front of the search word
that I typed in, and an answer "cannot find server". I am
running windows 98se and this problem occured after my
address bar format was changed by another site that I
logged on to. I managed to reset the original settings
using tools / internet otions / programs / reset web
settings tab. I ran a virus scan and healed one virus that
I found and re-ran it and my system shows there are no
viruses present. I also deleted the spy-ware files by
running ad-aware which located 100 plus new files. Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Jan,
Try Spybot S&D from http://www.safer-networking.org/ it may find something
that Ad-aware didn't find. You should update Spybot after download, before
running it.

You might also try CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html You
might have a coolwebsearch variant.

If unsuccessful with those programs, go to:
HijackThis Quick Start
http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
Read about HijackThis, download and run the program and post a log to the
"Spyware and Hijackware Removal Support" forum at
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ The experts there will tell you what to fix.

Hope this helps,
Don

Problem solved by a guy named Bo Ochan @ HijackThis. Much

Glad they helped you fix it. Very good (and very busy) people at that and
some other forums.
