Address bar too long

Hi all. My problem concerns the url-address bar in my browser
(Internet Explorer ver.6). Maybe this is the wrong group for this?
The problem is the location window uses up about 90% of the
toolbar space, and thus leaves no room for the Links buttons.
It seems to me that there should be a way of shortening the
location window so I can see at least some of my links, but I
can't seem to find any info on how to do it. Anyone know about
this? ... Help!
