address bar shutdown

when I type an address in the address bar and hit enter or GO, explorer shuts down. I can navigate fine using google/msn searches, point and click, and favorites, just can't type address directly. Have dowloaded latest version and does not solve problem. Any thoughts?

Rule out parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

It is possible you may have parasites, spy or malware on your system causing
the problem. Download, install, update the programs to be sure they have the
latest definitions, then run the programs below. They are free and very
effective.
Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does not detect the
other may. Follow the directions carefully:
