System got hijacked today. I've removed everything that was installed using both Hijack This and AdAware and tried all the steps listed at http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm including the registry files on the site. Also it's important to note that I am running QuickSearch for IE 5 which was working correctly earlier today. (Windows 2000 and IE 6)

Symptom
I have S defined as my Google searc
Entering.... S searchquery results in
http:///? s searchquer

Similar results for the Yahoo search...
Y searchquery results in..
http:///? y searchquer

Any help on this would be greatly apprecited it. I rely heavly on QuickSearch.
Thank

Hi,

If you have not already done so, you may want to run CWShredder to pick up
anything AdAware or Hijack this! may have missed. You can download CWShredder
from:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

After you have gotten rid of all the spyware, the following registry patch
should restore your search defaults:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/RestoreSearch2.REG

Seeing as this patch restores defaults, it may be necessary to reinstall
quicksearch (as it would appear to be a third-party program).

Regards,

Altrus
