address bar problem

I need help to remove previously visited sites from my
address bar. I've used the tools, options, clear history,
delete files and delete cookies. All to no avail. When I
go back to retyope a new address, these previously visited
sites are offered to me in the address bar. It's driving
me crazy.

You probably have corruption in your History folder or it's index.dat file.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.
Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
