Hi,

I;ve a problem where internet explorer won't go to a website unless I
explicitly add the 'http://' prefix.

i.e. www.google.com = no joy, whereas http://www.google.com will take me to
the site.

I'm sure I've seen this problem before and it was due to a browser hijack.
There was a registry fix I downloaded that fixed it, but I can't find it
now.

Any suggestions?

Using Regedit, browse to the following registry key and make sure the noted
setting is correct:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete]
"Append Completion"="yes"

also see the following values:

"Use AutoComplete"="yes"
"AutoSuggest"="no"
