address bar default location

recently ie6 has been defaulting to my documents as seen
below when i type an address into it. if i type the full
path (http://www.google.com) it goes to google, but if i
were to type just www.google.com, it defaults to docs and
settings as seen below. anyone know how to cahnge this.

hi Simon,

you can try out the following steps:

1. Click Start and then Run
2. In the open box type Control Inetcpl.cpl
3. The Internet properties window will open. Click on the Advanced tab
4. Hit the Restore Defaults button and click OK
5. Close Internet Explorer and start again
