Additional GLobal Catalog Server

I have two domain controlers in my network (one site, one domain). DC1 is my defaul Global catalog. I want to promote DC2 to a Global Catalog server, for redundancy
The reason I want to do this is that this week our generator went down for about 10 min. and it took DC1 about 15 minutes to come back on. Thus, nobady could sign on to the enetwork
I just want to know if anyone has something like this in place (two global catalogs within the same site, domain) and if there could be any trouble in having them both (replication issues, for example

We have 2 GCs in our main site. It actually is recommended to have 2 GCs
for, like you said, redundancy. To date, we have not seen any replication
issues or any problems.

Having two DC:s per site running GC is actually a very recommended
config
