Just got a Dell 2.8 w/ XP Pro at work. I wanted to move my files and
settings from my old Win98SE system to the new box, but am having some
network problems. So... thought I would pop the old drive into an external
USB case and transfer the files that way.

However, the USB drive won't show up on the XP system to where I can get to
it (i.e. - no show on "My Comuter, WinExplorer, Search Files, etc.). If I
go into Control Panel|System or Hardware Profiles, it shows up fine and says
that it is working perfectly.

Thinking it might be a USB problem, I decided to connect the old drive
directly to the IDE cable on the new system. Again, no joy. Same thing as
with the USB drive, it shows up in the hardware profiles, but no icons and
no access available (via My Computer, Explorer, etc.).

Any ideas??
