Adding XP Pro Laptop to Domain

D

Doug

Recently we upgraded from an NT 4 network to an 2003
server network. Now when we login to the laptop, XP adds
the domain to the user. Previously, the log in was just
the username, now it is user.domain or user.laptop. This
laptop is used on the road as well as in the office. How
do we get the settings to go back to just the original
user name so that it uses the same profile for either
scenario. The biggest problem this has caused is in
outlook since the system is using different profiles.

Any help here would be appreciated

Since you migrate to the 2003 from NT Platform all your
profile and setting will start working as an DNS format
(also the users: user.domain.com, or user.domain)
but you have to check at your system file folder
(c:\document and setting to see that your old NT profile
should be exist in this folder, you will recognize that
NT profile that does not include the domain suffix
try this
bye
