Adding Windows Components - Request a CD I do not have.

I just tried to add Indexing Services to my XP SP2 system using Control
Panel/Add Remove Programs/Add Remove Windows Components. After getting
the green progress bar for few seconds, I got a message asking me to
insert the Compact Disc labeled 'Messenger' into my CD-ROM. I don't
have such a disk nor do I remember ever having one. I tried the XP CD
but that didn't work.

Out of curiosity, I tried to add and/or remove several of the other
components shown in the selection pop up window. Always, I got the same
message. Where do I find such a disk. Perhaps they are referring to a
folder on the XP CD?

Thank you.

Hi

From Start>Run type

services.msc

scroll down the list until you come across the Indexing Service. What
entries are under 'Status' and 'Startup Type'?

Wow. Second time today you have pitched in with help.

Indexing Services shows as 'disabled.' I did that a long, long time
ago.

I'm not sure what that has to do with the request for the CD I've never
heard of. But I'm also sure there must me a connection someway.

Thanks once again.
