Adding new product softwear

My C drive shows it is almost full.

I have purchased a Garmin Map source product which includes maps of the
whole USA to go with my Garmin 76c GPS unit. This softwear requires a lot of
space on my harddrive.
All the programs I install are loaded to the C drive automatically and the D
drive is virtually empty.
Can I install this and other softwear on the D drive ? if so how can I do
this correctly?
Please don't assume that I know anything .

When you install any software, it generally gives an option to customize the
installation. At that point, you should be able to choose to install to a
different drive.

As far as the programs already installed, you're going to have to uninstall
it from its current location, and reinstall it on the D drive. There is no
way to reliably move programs from one drive to another.

No matter what, there is always something that will end up installing to the
C drive.
