adding new contact in windows mail

I cannot add a new contact in windows mail. when I click on new contact the
window flashes for a split second then disappears. I also cannot add
recipients in a new message when I click on the To: or Cc:. I get an "unable
to choose recipient" error.

Problems with contacts often mean that the contacts folder has been
accidentally
changed to some other type of folder. To correct this, start Windows Mail,
click on Tools, then Windows Contacts, right click in the empty space under
the right end of the contacts window toolbar, then click on Customize This
Folder, then the triangle to the right of the folder type, then Contacts,
then
Apply, then OK, then close the contacts window.
