Yes, of course and let me just add that to avoid such problems you
should install some Linux distro! <GD&R>

This isn't a microsoft newsgroup. Believe it or not, there
are some corners of the net that are not owned by Redmond.

Not that spam belongs on Usenet either, but microsoft doesn't
control *this* content.

What a joke....a web page that pertains to troubleshoot Windows installs
and tutorials on malware cleanup do not pertain here...in this MS help
group ?

And a webpage that will help you figure out what memory your MB will take
does not pertain here ?

So by your posted definition, neither of the 2 posts you labelled as spam
qualify by that definition.

Do you live in some bizarro world ?

microsoft.public.windows.vista.general *is* on an MS server.

If other News Servers choose to carry the messages here, that's up to them.
The Microsoft rules and conventions still apply, though (such as HTML
and top-posting being OK)

Which doesn't apply to the posts referred to.
Seems like someone has a reading comprehension problem.

You also need to turn off HTML when posting to Usenet.

Correct but....

When MSFT decided to propagate their public groups through out Usenet
those groups became part of Usenet and are subject to Usenet rules such
as HTML and top-posting being very much NOT OK.

If the msnews.microsoft.com server fell of the face of the earth today,
all of the other servers that carry this group could still keep on
carrying it, and it could still go on forever.

m.p.w.v.g *is* on an MS server, yes, but it is also on the Usenet.com
servers, giganews servers, newsguy servers, etc.

You can read and post to this group without ever coming near the MS
server.

I have and I understand Usenet etiquette or "Netiquette". Obviously
you haven't learned the rules and, from your post, it appears any kind
of courtesy is foreign to you.

Lose the HTML, stop top posting, read up on Netiquette, in other words,
learn how to post BEFORE posting to Usenet and showing yourself to be
the clueless newbie that you apparently are.

Would not 2 512MB sticks be more suitable with 2 open memory slots, thus
keeping dual channel enabled with 3GB of total RAM ?
