Adding meeting request as icalendar link in body of email

I was recently able to add the 2009 holiday schedule to my Outlook calendar
by simply clicking on a button sent to me in an email... How can I create a
set of meeting requests that particpants can simply add to their calendar by
clicking on a link or opening an attachment in the body of an email? The goal
is to avoid a deluge of "accept", "decline", etc. return emails by sending
out traditional meetinq requests. Thanks!
