Adding contacts to new groups

I have created 3 different groups in Outlook. Every time I click on one of
the groups and add a contact, it is added into the main contact file. Then
if I want to delete a contact from a group, it doesn't delete from the main
contact file. How do I get Outlook to add the contact ONLY to the group and
not the main contact file. I don't need duplicates.

Describe more accurately what you are doing.
Define what you mean my "group."

Sorry Russ, Ok, let me try to explain this further. I work for a
Wholesaler/Retailer and I have separate groups that I have created for the
Wholesale side and another group for the Retail side because they get
different e-mailings. The Wholesale group has over 300 addresses and the
Retail group has close to 500 addresses. When I click on either of the
groups and then click on "New/Add Contact" and type in the information and
then click on... OH MY GOODNESS, I just realized, it's not even Outlook, it's
Outlook Express. I'm sorry to have wasted your time.

That would explain why this made no sense to me.
This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
outlook express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE
