Adding Cells

I have two cells. I want to be able to enter a number in either cell and have
the other cell fill in with the number that makes the sum of the two cells
equal to 15.

assuming your cells are in columns a and b you could

in column a type =15-B1 and in column b type =15-A1 and paste for the
desired range

If I enter the formula in the cells, how do i enter a number in them also.
Also, when I tried to do what you suggested, excel told me I used a circular
reference

the circular reference can be ignored; you would type over the formula in
either row a or b. once one of the cells is typed over, the other will show
the number needed to sum to 15. is that along the lines of what you were
looking to do?

That should work. Thank You.
