Numbers showing Up Centered in Cell ?

Bob

Hello,

Using Excel 2007.

Have a column formatted as Numbers.
When I put a number anywhere in the column, it shows up to the right of
the cell.
Fine.

If I now, at the end of the column, do a SUM( ), the result is correct,
but it shows up in the centered position,
not on the right. The SUM cell is also (definitely) formatted as a number.

Why should this be ?
Shouldn't the SUM also show up on the right ?

Thanks,
Bob

right click to SUM cell => Format Cells => Alignment => Horizontal
Alignment = "General"
If then the position is left click to the column header => TextToColumns
=> Finish
