adding allowed items

hi how do i add to allowed items i use peerguardian to block spyware servers
from reaching my pc. each time i start pg wd asks to permit or block the
driver there is no option to add to allowed items & in allowed items theres
no option to add ive tryd adding pg on bootup but wd blocks the driver so the
only way i can use pg is manually. ive unchecked the services & drivers agent
in real time but wont get alerted to malicious services & drivers now. im
thinking about uninstalling wd & activating the registry guard in kasperskys
proactive defence module because i can set rules in kav which i carnt in
windows defender. wd has worked flawless on my set up & has never found
anything

Hi mickyfinnm and welcom back,

I think you may have to work at excluding it from the scan.

Tools, Options, scroll down to Advanced options, and fill the box, by adding
the full path and file name to the Tools/Options/ do not scan box, hit the
add button, and Save.
-
Also, if you want to see WD Real Time Protection in action, try the EICAR the

test file...

From Joe Faulhaber [MSFT]:

For those of you who want to know what we're talking about, the EICAR group

came up with a harmless file detected by antivirus products so you can
safely verify the product's working. If you haven't seen Windows Defender
detect something, visit http://eicar.org, download the 68 byte file
eicar.com.txt, and copy it to your startup folder. Your AV solution (that you
should be running in addition to Windows Defender) will also pick it up."

thanks engle, ive put pg exe & pg programme files folder into exclusion from
scanning box & rebooted wd will still not let pg driver run on bootup & it
asks to permit or block when starting pg manually, i would like to see a
feature added to wd in the future that allows you to set exclusions & rules.
i will try eicar.com.txt nice1
