Adding a SIMPLE rear cover to a Word 2003 doc, working in Word 200

I'm doing some simple re-formatting of a Word 2003 written by someone else.

I am working in Word 2007, and saving to the old Word 2003 ".doc" format,
because I can't get involved with any catastrophic changes. This has to be
simple and quick.

I need to add an absolutely plain page, WITH NO HEADER AND ESPECIALLY NO
FOOTER, as a simple rear cover. No formatting, no templates, no nothing. I'll
supply the simple content manually. (Imagine that!)

Removing the footer from the last page, the page break I added
notwithstanding, has produced the predictable "undesirable result" of
deleting all content from all footers throughout the document.

Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the page break and instead insert a Next Page section break.

In the new section at the end of the document, open the header pane. On the
Header & Footer Tools tab of the ribbon, click the Link To Previous button to
turn it off, and then delete the contents of the header -- this will now affect
only the new section, leaving the header of the previous section (the rest of
the document) intact.

Then edit the footer, again turning off Link To Previous before deleting the
unwanted footer text.
