Adding a shared printer on a MS windows 200 server

I am trying to add an HP color laserjet to a windows 2000
Print server.

When I click finsih and it copies the driver files it
gives me an error message:

Printer driver was not installed. The specified prin
monitor is unknown.

Any ideas???

Some printer drivers have a so called 'monitor' associated with them. This
thing sometimes performs changes in the stream of data that goes to the
device. It appears that this monitor could not be installed. If the INF
files says that a driver is dependent on a monitor, the monitor installation
has to succeed first. Then the driver itself.

I'd look in the INF for a 'LanguageMonitor' entry. Find what is the name of
the language monitor DLL. Check if this DLL is among the files present in
the driver package. If it is there, check if the setup program copied it to
the %windir%\system32 directory. Is this monitor in system32?
