I have added a memory card but do not know how to check with Window 2000 to
see if I am operating with the new card. I added 254 but it sure isn't any
faster. Any ideas? How to I check for whether the computer is using the card?

254 what ?

If Win2K is working properly with a removable RAM drive (volatile RAM memory card or FLASH
drive) the OS should create a drive letter for it in "My Computer" and be expressed as a
removable drive (or some test to that effect).

go into "my computer", click on help, then about windows. There should be
"physical memory available to windows", which will be the total amount of
memory that's installed in the machine.

I think I missed that. The vague post led me to think RAM drive rather than RAM module !
