Adding a new field to a form in Access 2002

Hi

I am building my first Access database. I am doing ok so far but I added a
new field to a table and I want to view that field in an existing form (well,
subform actually) without having to recreate the form and all the design
changes I have made (positioning of boxes etc.)

Is this possible in Access 2002? Or should do I have to create the form all
over again?

You should be able to open the form in design mode and add the new field to
the form especially if the form is directly linked to the table. If you have
a query as the record source, you may need to add the new field to the query
first.

Open the form in design view; view its Properties. On the Data tab select the
"Record Source" property - click the ... icon by it to open a query design
window. Add the new field, close the design window, and accept Access' offer
to save the SQL, and your new field should be available.

Once you have the new field in the recordsource of the form, open the form
in design view. Find the field list button in the menu at the top of the
screen. Click it and you will get a list of all the fields in the
recordsource. Click and drag your new field and drop it on your form where
you want it.
