adding a movie/video

I have an avi file that i wish to put on a website. I have followed the directions in the help menu but the video doesn't play. I just get an empty box. What do I need to do? I also have a real file that I wish to put up and a sound file. I can't figure any of it out with just the help menu.

Ok, so thanks Stefan, I did that. Now instead of an empty box I get a windoes media box that doesn't do anything even though it has the file listed. When I try to preview the file in frontpage it tells me "Cannot play back the video stream: no suitable decompressor could be found". What should I do? Am I missing something? Is the movie not in the right format? Help.....

Is it possible that the .avi file is compressed to DIVX? In that case, your
PC wouldn't be able to play back the file without installing a codec.
