Hi...

This must be something new that slipped in during an update... Now when I
want to go back to add text to anything, e-mail in Outlook, Outlook Express,
any documents in Word, I left-click where I want to enter text and as I enter
it, the text on the right-hand side is gobbled up just as quickly as I type
in the new text. When did THIS happen and WHY? More importantly, HOW can I
keep this from happening? It is taking me more time for corrections caused
by the auto disapearing acts than it does to type the documents! Thanks!!!!!!

Turn off the Insert key on you keyboard.

Hello Night Poet,

It appears as if you have enabled OVR (overwrite?) mode on your keyboard.
With Word open, do you see OVR in the bottem middle of your screen? It should
be greyed out, indicating that you are in insert mode. This is not a change
that was made by any Microsoft software update.

Press the Num Lock button on your keypad to toggle the numbers off. Then
press the 0 button on your keypad one time to toggle from OVR mode to insert
mode. This key likely shows 0 and "Ins" printed on it.

By the way, this newsgroup is for questions related to Microsoft Access, the
database software. However, if my answer has helped you, please answer yes to
the question that reads "Did this post answer the question?", which should be
visible at the bottom right corner of your screen.
