Add to Library -> By Monitoring Folders

I keep adding the "My Music" folder (C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\My
Documents\My Music), but it keeps removing itself from the list of folders to
monitor. Sometimes before I've closed WMP 10 and sometimes after I've opened
and closed it several times. ??

Sure. I add that path to the list of folders to monitor. I go back later
and it's gone from the list of folders to monitor and no longer being
monitored.

That is not allowed. My Music is a system file and cannot be "fiddled" with.
Its location is by default under My Documents. It cannot be renamed or
replaced. You could create another folder called "Music" which you can
then put in your list to monitor. Good luck and happy putering - :~)

Byte, you're really missing what I'm saying. I'm not renaming or "fiddling"
with anything. I'm telling WMP to monitor the My Music folder for new music
through the use of the "File -Add to Library-By Monitoring Folders-Browse".
I then point it to the My Music Folder. I would have thought this would have
been a default set up by WMP during installation, but the only thing listed
was C:\Documents and Settings\myname\My Documents\My Videos, where myname is
my real name.

Sorry, misunderstood your situation. Open WMP10>
go here: Click File>Add to Library>By Monitoring folders>
You should have at least two to monitor, one for your name and the other
for All Users. Highlight both and click Add. You can do the same for videos.

For God's sake, man. You're killing me. The very first post I submitted
said I was doing exactly that! The problem is, as stated in each subsequent
post, that after adding the path leading to "My Music", it keeps disappearing
out of the list of folders to be monitored. Are you just toying with me? I
feel like I've stated this pretty plainly in each post. You obviously know
this program well, and I look forward to an answer that addresses what I'm
asking. p.s. You stated in your last response to highlight the two folders
that should be showing in the list of monitored folders and then click "Add".
If they're already showing in the list of folders being monitored, you
wouldn't need to "Add" them again. The"Add" button acts like a "Browse"
button and allows you to navigate to a folder and add it to the list of
folders to be monitored.

I stated the way to ADD them, you did not state "how YOU added them",
thus I gave you the steps to do just that. But, sorry, it looks like you may
have some corrupt or missing files within WMP10. Yes, I am very familiar
with the Media Player, thanks. The only one recommendation I have left
is to download a "fresh" copy of it and reinstall it overtop of itself. DO
NOT
delete or uninstall your old copy for it is designed that way. Hope this
will solve your situation. :~)

Hi,

Hoped you had got an answer here. I am having exactly the same problem. Have
downloaded the program again and reinstalled, but still having same problem.

Have you solved it yet?
