"Add to Favorites..." Replacement

Mark Jerde

I googled but found nothing.

Anyone know of a replacement utility for IE's "Favorites | Add to
Favorites..." menu option? I'd like something that makes better use of my
1600x1200 display, and kept the folder list opened between uses. When doing
internet research I'll often add three or more URLs to the same
sub-sub-sub-subfolder, and the RSI-inducing "Favorites | Add to
Favorites..." click - scroll - click -scroll - click - scroll gets really
old really fast. Even if the window was bigger so I didn't have to scroll
so much it would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark :)

While in IE, click on the Favorites on the second Tool bar and the sidebar
window on the left should display all your Favorites. There will normally
be a Favorites on the top toolbar, but click the one on the second toolbar
down from the top. You can open and close-up the window as much or as
little as you like. I use mine this way too and when you want to add a
Favorite, just click the Add in the Favorites window and you can add it. You
can make folders too there too.

Hope this helps.

Jan -- Thanks! That's really one of those, "Duh! Why didn't I think of
that?" things... <g>

A couple enhancements I "discovered."
1. If you hold down the control key when you click a folder, the previously
open folder is not closed. This lets you drag URLs into any of several
subfolders without having to reopen the heirarchies.
2. You only have to be showning the Favorites Explorer Bar in one IE
window. You can drag URLs from the Address bar of other IE windows into the
one IE window Favorites Explorer Bar.

Thanks again.
