Can anyone tell me how to get a custom website template to show up in My
Templates tab of the Web Site Templates dialog box?

File, Save As and choose FrontPage Template. Give it a name and it will
appear on the my Templates tab when you choose More Page Templates.

Thanks, David, for the quick reply. The site has already been saved as a
template. I am trying to switch computers and make the template that I have
been using on one computer available on my new computer. I have copied it to
the new computer and when I open it in FP, all of the Save options are grayed
out.

Try renaming the template to have a .htm extension, then try saving as a template.

Didn't work. I renamed the website folder from Custom.tem to Custom.htm -
opened the site and still can't Save. I also tried taking the extension off
of the folder totally - still no Save options.

Rename the actual template file to .htm, import into your current open FP web, then open and save as
a template.

It's the file you named with the .tem extension. Ex: mytemplate.tem. Just
do a search for it on your hard drive.

The file that you see when you open the actual .tem folder.

The tem folder has lots of files in it. It is a whole web site. When I open
any of the files within the folder, I do have the save options, but isn't
that only saving that one page as a template? I need the whole site to be
saved as a website template.

Sound like you save a site as template, not just a page.

Exactly - the template is a website template - not a web page template. The
folder was named custom.tem. It is this folder that I need to see on the "My
Templates" tab of the "Web Site Templates" dialog box.

Sorry, I have no idea how to import that from one web to another.

Thank you, Thomas and David, for spending so much of your time helping me
with this. Because of your answers, I was able to finally find out where to
copy the folder. When trying to save an individual page as a Template, I was
able to follow the default path for page templates and found the web
templates folder. I copied my template folder into there and Voila!! it now
appears on the My Templates tab. Since it was already a template, I guess I
did not have to actually save it as a template - I just needed to find the
correct place to copy it.
Thanks again!!!!!
