add/remove programs

Not sure why none of my other questions are being
answered...hopefully THIS one will be.....

Can anyone PLEASE advise me what these files are...

If you go
Start
Settings
Control Panel
Add or Remove programs

There are files here where I dont know where they come
from. As I am having hassles receiving mail...I was just
uninstalling things and came across these and was
wondering....

They have an icon of a computer monitor and a CD.
I have 16 of these, they show very little information, no
date, no size, no frequency of use either.

These files are namely:
NPO
PAD Lookups by n-CASE
S3Display
S3Gamma2
S3Info2
S3Overlay
ShopAtHomeSelect Agent
Spin4Dough
Win32 BI Application
Windows XP Hotfix - KB823182
Windows XP Hotfix - KB824105
Windows XP Hotfix - KB824141
Windows XP Hotfix - KB824146
Windows XP Hotfix - KB825119
Windows XP Hotfix - KB826939
Windows XP Hotfix - KB828035
Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) Q819696

I think the S3 products may be from my monitor...but I
have never downloaded any Windows Hotfix and I do not have
it set to automatically download.

Anyone know what is going on and what I can remove that
may help me to access my mail??

Thanks
Shaz

Hi Shaz

The following are probably 3rd party programs which have been installed onto your system - you will have to find the appropriate listing in Start>Programs, although the S3 entries could be for your graphics card.

The 'Hotfixes' are the entries for Windows Updates. I would suggest leaving those where they are.

Your previous posting about SpyBlocker results form the fact that you have installed an earlier version. The entries in the Registry are still pointing to the newer version. To try and get rid of this program, try either both of the following programs:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/

Hi,

Yes, the S3 entries are video related. The hotfix files are from visiting
WindowsUpdate (uninstallable updates create a backup folder under %windir%
and add the hotfix entry). The problem you have is n-Case, read:
