add & remove programs

All of a sudden, almost all of my programs are missing
from this area. There are only 6 programs when there used
to be many, many programs listed. Has anyone encountered
this problem? If so what did you do to restore the list
of programs?
 
Be certain all of your data is backed up. It looks like you are heading for
a format and reinstallation of Windows. Get backed up quickly before you
lose it all.
 
Try scrolling down and see if there is a *huge* white space in the middle.

This is generally due to the DisplayIcon having a negative number. From here
you can either remove the negative number or remove the last application
listed: Start/Run/Regedit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{}
