add remove programs i control pannel

The add remove programs in the control pannel will not
start when selected. The icon will highlight but the
program will not start.
Contacted Dell, they want to do a complete HD Foormat and
reload. Want to avoid that if possible

Try running regsvr32 appwiz.cpl

If that doesn't work, see tip 6032 and links in the 'Tips & Tricks' at

Thanks for the reply. I checked out that tip page and did
the commands...but it still won't open Am I going to
need to reinstall win2000? If so, can I do it without
losing everything off the hard drive?
