After reinstall of XP Home I wanted to get rid of junk programs through
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. All was going well, but now I see only
a list of installed programs without the ability to remove them. That option
has disappeared.

I have rebooted. Have not uninstalled any Windows components that I know of.

Thanks.

Go in the "Program Files" folder and then in the specific program. You
should see an "uninstall.exe" file which you can click on to uninstall the
program.

Frank and PA Bear: I am trying to uninstall all the promo programs like
Norton because I don't want them or already use others. Frank there is no
uninstall.exe for Norton. I searched including hidden files. PA Bear, I am
not certain what you mean by "such as...?" but right now there is no
uninstall option in the Add/Remove programs. I have gone into the registry
to look for a negative value and have done a Run/msiexec /unregister and
Run/msiexec /unregister as suggested on another side. Nothing has helped.

Such as = What applications are you attempting to uninstall?
