Programs Missing in Add/Remove Programs

Can anyone please explain to me why all of a sudden the majority of installed
programs on my pc have disappeared from the list in add/remove programs in
the control panel? And more to the point, how to re-populate them? I need to
do a repair to one of my programs but it's no longer listed and I'm at a loss
as to why this has happened.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Nope. However, any encounter like that is always a good reason to check
the Malware status ASAP.

Use the System Restore tool if you're positive that your system is clean.

use WFP. Insert WinXP CD and at Run "sfc /scannow".

Nope, note that I'm *not* the OP! In addition, that bad advice is plain
nonsense.

Envy is showing. Probably shouldnt insult people you're asking for free
advice. Since I helped write the new A+ exams in Chicago I may know a tab
about PCs.

ROFL! First, *I* didn't ask for any advice. Second, bad advice even for
free is still bad advice! Note that "SFC /scannow" does not restore the
missing registry entries, however, replacing system files (not related to
the OP's problem at all) with old RTM-CD versions, for instance, may render
the OP's system entirely useless. Again, bad advice - EOD.

Why not just do a system restore, before the problem acured, Choose
a pass date. Apply and restore. This can be found in system
tools.
