add remove program missing /cant uninstall

I've looked at the threads below and my issue is slightly different. When I
hi lite the program in the list of installed programs the uninstall button
disappears. I can see the old menu system at the top but when I click "file"
uninstall is not shown as an option. If I click another program the unisntall
button comes back ...same in the old file above...you see uninstall. When I
go to this problem program I wish to uninstall its just not there. I even
went in the registry and looked under
microsoft/windows/currentversion/uninstall and again this program is not
listed. Actually missing 3 programs.

The main issue is with Quickbooks by Intuit. However Adobe acrobat seems to
have the same issue.ie: the uninstall buttons do not show when the program is
hilited.

I did try the windows cleaner program and got further issues. It took the
program out of the list of programs that display when you click "programs" in
the control panel. However I can still launch the program by going to the
start button and clicking on "all programs". It comes up on that list and I
can launch from there. So it appears it is still in the system but does not
show as an installed program.

Please see this support doc for uninstalling Quickbooks in Vista:
http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/DoSearch.aspx?kbID=1004383

Which one of the Adobe programs do you have installed Reader or Writer? If
its the Reader, maybe you could try installing a later version of the
current installation.

You might also want to disable UAC before trying uninstall Adobe Acrobat.

If that does not work, take a look at the following:
