I have a very strange situation here. When I go to the Add or Remove
Programs list in Control Panel it shows only 12 programs when sorted by
name. The rest of the list is blank. When I sort by size, it shows a
different 12 programs. When I sort by Frequency of Use it shows 41 programs
and when I sort by Date Last Used it shows 51. Fifty one programs is
probably close to right.

This is Win XP Pro with all current Microsoft updates. AVG and Ad-Aware say
it's virus and adware free,. Except for the Add Remove Program issue, this
install has been problem free. Any help appreciated.

Thanks Mark. That did the trick. There was a ,-1 at the end of the
DisplayIcon data for a single program just as described. Removing the ,-1
fixed all the display problems.

Hi Jim,

Do you have AutoCad installed? If that's the case, see this thread for a solution.
http://groups.google.co.in/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/msg/3632fda54259d28e?hl=en&

If not, then download the script below and run it. Post the results here. This script lists all the negative icon references present in the registry, and creates a log file for troubleshooting.

Script

(Lists all negative icon references in Add/Remove)
