Ever since I installed the McAfee Internet Security Suite (6.0), I can't
uninstall ANY programs. I receive an error message that says the Windows
Installer Service could not be accessed. Is there a way to reinstall missing
Windows files? Does anyone have any tips on McAfee for once I am back up and
running? Thanks!

NoAddRemovePrograms & NoControlPanel policies can cause this. If for a
stand-alone system, open Regedit and navigate to these paths:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall

Delete "NoAddRemovePrograms" value in the right-pane.

Then, navigate to these paths:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Delete "NoControlPanel" value in the right-pane.

Always backup the registry when modifying.

HKCU refers to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKLM refers to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
