Add on for Word doc. from Outlook contact

Is there a program that allows me to create easily a word document from and
Outlook contact. I know it can be done with a mail merge in Word, but it can
be done effortlesly from Outlook?

For e.g. I would right click a contact and there would be an option new
letter, this would be linked to a template containing all the address fields
and a single click would have a word doc. ready addressed and dated etc.

Thanks!

If you set up your contacts folder as an address book, you can open Word and
access the address book and then write your letter. Right click on the
contacts folder, properties, Outlook Address book, select use this folder as
an address book. Then it will be available in all Office programs.

Thank you. What I meant was that Word should fill in the name and address of
the contact at the top of the letter. This can be done with a merge but I
wonder if there is a simpler way directly from the outlook contact.

I have found a program called Aladdins Office Documents which seems to do
what I am asking. Has anyone used it? Is there anything better out there?

You failed to post your Office version, which puts us all at an extreme
disadvantage when trying to answer your question since we can't read minds.
In many versions, the "New Letter to Contact" Wizard in Outlook might
fulfill your needs. In more recent versions, this Wizard was abandoned, but
you still have and have always had the "Insert Address" option in Word.
I'll leave you to figure out which version you have and which option works
best for you.

I can't see an insert address option in the insert menu on word 2003. I will
look at work tomorrow on 2007. Did you mean insert address field or block?

The "New Letter to Contact" option was mercifully put out of its misery in
Office 2007 because it had grown so dysfunctional. It appears that the
Outlook developers and Word developers do not actually know one another let
alone collaborate so the "integration" among applications that Office claims
as one of its assets is more a marketing line than a reality.
On the other hand, the Insert Address option in Word has existed in all
versions and is what most of us have used in lieu of the New Letter to
Contact option for years. It persists in Office 2007. Just add it to your
QAT. To learn about ways to control how an Address is inserted into Word
from Outlook, take a look here:

I can't seem to find Insert Address command on the QAT if when choosing All
Commands. Help on a search of 'insert address' doesn't provide an answer.

The links don't appear to apply to Word 2007.

The problem is that the WORD 2007 function is SLOW for a single letter (more
of us write single letters thatn those that merge large groups of peaople)
and WORD does not keep a link to the file in OUTLOOK no rdoes it record the
action and other information in the log for that contact.
