"Add New Hardware" Finds non existant devices

Every time i start up my pc it claims to have found a new
printer. The only hardware directly connected to my PC
are the monitor, mouse (Intellipoint USB) & keyboard
(Windows Internet PS/2). When i try to install the driver
it can't find the correct driver for the hardware
(because there isn't any new hardware).
There is a check box at the end of the wizard "don't
prompt me again to install this software" but it doesn't
make any difference.
I have tried tracking down the supposed port of
connection but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated as this is getting quite
annoying
