Add mail rule filters for read receipt and meeting responses

There should be a mail filter option (Rules and Alerts) to filter all read
receipt responses and meeting request responses into a specified folder.

That can be done today with the "uses form name form" rule action, but doing so means Outlook can't process those items.

Thanks...I see now. But what exactly do you mean by "Outlook can't process
those items"? Things like my meeting invitation will not show the response
under the "Tracking" tab? If that's the case, then my suggestion expands to
allowing the filter to occur without impeding the functionality of the
process.

Exactly. Outlook only processes items in the Inbox. If you move those responses to some other folder, Outlook is not going to go looking for them. Leave them in the Inbox if you want tracking to occur.

If you want to expand on your suggestion, you ought to explain what the benefits of the change you propose would be.

I've removed the filter for Meeting responses, but have run into another
problem which may provide a reason for my expanded suggestion. I still have
filters set up to filter messages from certain people or with certain
subjects - so this filters still end up being applied to the meeting
responses. In this case, if Outlook doesn't properly process the meeting
response in the calendar, this could be an issue. Even if this could be
considered a bug or a feature request, no doubt it'd be extremely low
priority and possibly difficult to achieve.

Fortunately, I have also found an interesting work around. Since I created
some of my "from person filter" folders as subfolders of the Inbox, these
meeting responses were being filtered AND process in the calendar. As such,
I just created my Message Replies folder within the Inbox, and it does
exactly what I want it to do.
